Warren Cole Guideboat Plan
Product Description
The Adirondack guideboat is one of America's most remarkable small craft designs. Sought after by collectors today, these "double-enders" are unique to the Adirondacks. Their light weight and carrying yoke made it possible for woodsmen to traverse the region's network of lakes and rivers in the days before roads were cut through the forest. Cole (1854-1922) was a renowned builder. For 16 winters he built boats while in the spring, summer and fall he guided. A typical Cole boat weighed about 60 pounds and took roughly 175 man-hours to complete. Drawing size 30½ X 42½, 3 sheets. Boat Size 16'2".
